Questions Most People Have About Christ's Coming Back In this article and the next few following, I will offer a general compilation of the most often asked questions asked of me over the years, and hopefully some sensible answers. Some responses will be backed up by solid Scripture, while others will merely appeal to common sense and logic. By punching in your questions online, perhaps on Ask Jeeves, you might get some responses. If you think you'll get a more accurate response, you might want to talk to a theological professor at Harvard. You may also just take a more casual approach, by just waiting for the next TV special on the subject and listen to the whole heavily opinionated body of experts. They may include skeptics, doubters, liberals, conservatives, and perhaps a few fanatics to spice things up. It's possible that you won't learn anything, and even if you do manage to avoid sinking even deeper into the swirling pool of confusion and uncertainty that you already feel is prevailing, you won't be any better prepared than you were before. The answers offered here are not infallible but they have a backing of over thirty five years of study, examination, revelation and hopefully a good smattering of common sense. The only other thing I can offer is my assurance that God has given me this particular calling and ministry. It is entirely up to the individual readers to decide whether or not they accept the significance of these points. I've already made up my mind. First I would not dare to call God a liar. Second, I don't have anything to show, and last but not least, it was clearly expected of me, and I have to do it as soon as I can. Every time I approach this topic, I hear these words so clearly: "To whomever much is given, much will be required, and to whom men have committed much, they will ask more." Luke 12:48
Question
What is the single worst belief or false doctrine of all, concerning the second coming of Christ?
Answer
The single worst thing that works against sound second coming doctrine isnt a doctrine at all. It's a lack of interest. The business as usual lifestyle will be the chief reason millions are not fully prepared for His return, not some controversial doctrine. No one has made that clearer than Jesus. However, the coining of the Son of Man will also be like the days of Noe. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking. marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came and took them all away: so shall also the coming of the Son of man he. 37-39 Matthew 24: In the United States, prosperity is taking the place of preparedness. Those in the continued hot pursuit of more material goods, securities and life as usual will be shocked and surprised at the sudden return of the Lord. Nothing will surprise those who are studying the message of the second coming and praying fully watching. Rev Bresciani is the author of two popular Christian books, one on the second coming of Christ. He has written hundreds of articles, both in print and online.
Did you know that our thoughts can have an impact on our lives and reality? Have you ever watched the movie "What the Bleep Do We Know!?" Intriguingly, there is a scene in the movie that discusses how various emotional states influence water molecules and cause them to form patterns. Imagine how surprised you would be to learn that love, joy, and other things follow different patterns. You may start to notice the ways that your mind and body are interrelated and how your thoughts affect your body. For instance, someone who has always had a positive outlook on life may have a body that is worse off after a lifetime of negative thinking. Consider the possibility that things may not always be as they appear. There is a whole lot more going on out there than we are ‘tuned’ into. Just pondering over this for a while may start to open your mind to new possibilities. We only see a certain range of light with our eyes. Yet, science tells us that the full range of the light spectrum is far beyond what human beings can see with the naked eye. Of course, you may surmise the same idea applies to our human hearing. There is a greater frequency range for sound than what the human ear can hear. Consider the notion that there are entire realities that we, as human beings, don’t normally experience. Interesting, isn't it? Ever wondered why insects voluntarily enter a web made by a spider? Science tells us that from the insects’ point of view, and the spectrum of light that they see, a web is a beautiful multicolored rainbow. Our perception of reality appears to be limited by the range of frequencies that we are physically aware of. If you could sense more of these frequencies, how different would your life be? You may have pondered that we are born as a blank slate, very open to the influences that we encounter after birth and as children. It's possible that our current educational system can only get us so far. Isn't it exciting to consider the possibility that the reality of our lives and the universe may be far more fascinating than you ever imagined and go beyond what you were taught in school? The repercussions are mind-blowing.
He must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me if he wants to follow me. Whoever loses his life for me and the gospel will save it, but whoever wants to save it will lose it. If a man has everything in the world but nothing in his soul, what good is it? NIV, Mark 8:34-36 This has been a long, hard summer, but I'm still so full of all the possibilities God has shown me. My co-authorship of a book on natural dog health with a holistic veterinarian, the launch of a new product line with Saving Grace Enterprises, and preparations for an online conference with veterinarians, doctors, and others to help educate on how to stop a superbug staph infection are rapidly approaching completion. All of this sounds serious, doesn't it? Well not according to what God has been telling me all week! As we wrapped up a series on The Godward Heart on Sunday, our pastor delivered a very interesting sermon on Psalm 23. That psalm has probably been read and heard by all of us since we were children, regardless of our Christian faith. However, I’ve not ever heard it presented like this and that is most likely why it resonated so loudly with me. Let me do my usual roundabout way of getting to the point here… Psalm 23 is all about the Shepard and His sheep, right? My interest was piqued when I realized what a shepard was responsible for and how he carried it out in Jesus' time. Anyone who has read my articles on this website knows that I also run a natural pet care business and love animals. When our pastor started explaining how a shepard cares for his sheep and what tools he uses, I felt like God was sitting next to me and whispering in my ear and it sent shivers up my spine in a most delightful way! For a long time, I've wondered how God might use me in a natural pet care business. Then He brought me together with Dee Kreidel and Saving Grace Enterprises to create our new product line in custom hand-tooled leather collars, leashes and journals. What did I say? Lord, how does that relate to natural pet care? I got an interesting answer Sunday AND one that told me not to take myself so seriously. I'll get to that in a moment. We all know that the shepard had a staff that stood somewhere between 5 and 6 feet tall, according to what our pastor said. It had the well-known hook at the end, which was designed to prevent sheep from wandering. Sound familiar? Have you ever questioned why God refers to us as "sheep"? It's not flattering to say that they aren't the smartest things ever made and that they need constant care and attention. The shepard also carried a baton about the size of what our police officers carry today. He would make use of that to prevent attacks by predators. Additionally, he used it for something a little harsher. The shepard would break one or two of a sheep's legs with the baton and immediately set them if that sheep was constantly wandering off and was not learning to stay with the herd. Until he was completely healed, he would then wear that sheep around his neck. What is the purpose? For the sheep to become dependent upon the shepard for all its needs and to bond fully with him. God does the same thing again to His children. The shepard also did something interesting: he applied oil to each sheep's head and body to ward off pests (fleas, ticks, and flies, the usual suspects). Now the oil referred to isn’t your vegetable cooking oil as that would not ward off insects. Nope it was what we now know as essential oils (which by the way still are used extensively in that part of the world for their healing benefits and fast growing here in the USA) mixed with most likely olive oil. The oils served another purpose too. Similar to us, sheep are silly and get irritated over anything. When they did get angry, they’d go charging into each other to butt heads so hard that they could kill each other. With the oil on their heads, they would be able to skid off of one another, preventing their deaths. Yes, I'm moving on to the "serious stuff" and pet issues with Dee. Therefore, the shepard would carry a substantial leather poncho that he would wear during inclement weather and also use as a kind of "pup tent" to sleep in for his own protection. As a result, we have Dee's leather goods and my essential oils for pets. Hmmm. Leather was the Shepard’s protection. The Holy Spirit is represented by oil throughout the Bible. He uses animals as an illustration of us. Does anybody else "see" this? God will definitely use whatever, wherever, whomever for His purpose and glory if we just get the heck out of the way. Be relieved of ourselves so that Jesus can reign and work. He will protect us and He will provide for us. I found this to be so funny when our pastor got to the Three Points of Application section: 1. I don't have to take myself as seriously because the Shepard is in charge. It’s ALL about Him. This does not mean to not take ISSUES in the world seriously because we should. It means to not take OURSELVES so seriously. If we continue to take ourselves too seriously, this is really Internalized pride and incorrect thinking that stems from our inability to surrender. 2. Because the Shepard cares, I can release my burdens to Him. Matthew 11:28, 1 Peter 5:7. 3. I can rely on the Shepard to direct my life because He is qualified. I was given clear instructions from God about not only what I should be doing but also why and how it related to who He is. However, he did not specify the time. Leave it to Him to keep tempering and teaching as He goes about His purpose. On Tuesday or Wednesday after this riveting sermon on Sunday, John Fischer of a Purpose Driven Life wrote this in his devotional Acquittal by Penguin the following paragraph: “This is not to say that any behavior in the natural kingdom legitimizes corresponding activity among human beings, but I do believe God has given us animals to mirror human behavior, and help us see ourselves in another light and not take ourselves or our roles so seriously. ” (italics mine) Hey, do you think God is trying to tell me something? So then I was listening to some contemporary Christian music on Thursday while doing my housework. I was playing Jennifer Knapp’s CD, Lay it Down, and the song “Into You” came on. I've listened to that song numerous times, and the chorus's words, "relieve me of myself, bring me into You," have always stood out to me. I KNOW that God was telling me to relax, lay down, trust Him, and not take myself too seriously. He has a reason for the work I'm doing, so let Him do it, let yourself be relieved, rely on Him, and just enjoy the ride! WHEW! What a ride, brothers. So if anyone is getting too “puffed up” maybe we all just need to get over ourselves and rest in the Shepard. I sure don’t want to have to learn the hard way and take a 2X4 baton!
